YMCA Right Here
YMCA Right Here is an award-winning youth-led, young people’s health and wellbeing project.
We work with a team of Youth Ambassadors aged 16-25 to improve health outcomes for young people locally and nationally. YMCA Right Here’s Youth Ambassadors design and deliver everything we do. They deliver training and workshops, create resources and campaigns, and find ways to ensure young people’s views and experiences change how we think and what we do around health and wellbeing across Brighton & Hove and more widely.
Right Here 10 Year anniversary celebrations
July 2020 marks the 10th anniversary of the Right Here project. We’d like to say a huge thank you to our sponsors, funders, commissioners, volunteers, and staff for your amazing support over the past 10 years and your commitment to youth voice and youth-led health & wellbeing initiatives.

Digital Work
www.wheretogofor.co.uk is a Brighton and Hove website aimed at 11-25-year-olds that helps them find services in the area. Everything from information on Smoking, Alcohol, and Drugs to Sexual Health is listed on this website.
www.docready.org helps you to get ready for a doctor's appointment if you want to discuss your mental health and wellbeing.
www.YMCARightHere.com lists everything that we do here at YMCA Right Here.
www.e-wellbeing.co.uk is a digital wellbeing service for young people, run by YMCA DownsLink Group. Right Here’s volunteers create content for this website to help inform and support other young people.
Mental Health Champions Programme
We are working in 10 schools and colleges in Brighton & Hove to train and support teams of Mental Health Champions, aged 11-19, to create and deliver their own student-led actions around improving mental health and tackling stigma, within their school or college.
Young Healthwatch
The Youth Ambassadors are involved in designing and delivering research consultations to young people, asking questions around health and care-related issues and services. Reports are written for Healthwatch Brighton & Hove, who then use the information to help improve services.
Campaigns
Our campaigns include #IAMWHOLE which looked at de-stigmatising Mental Health, the campaign was developed with Jordan Stephens from Rizzlekicks. Other campaigns include ‘No Worries’ focussed around sexual health services and #NoStressSuccess which looks at alternative routes into employment/education and exam stress.
Guides and resources
We produce pocket guides around self-harm and suicide prevention and general wellbeing for young people as well as guides for parents and carers.
