Join the Sleep Easy challenge!
Are you and your friends/colleagues/team mates looking for your next challenge? Do you want to take part in something that will really make a difference to young people in your local communities? Then look no further – Sleep Easy 2020 is the event for you.
What is Sleep Easy?
Sleep Easy is a fun and important challenge that anyone can take part in. We are looking for individuals or groups to sleep outside for one night, all with the aim of raising money for YMCA DownsLink Group.
Whilst we can’t promise you a comfortable night, we can promise an enjoyable evening where you can wake in the morning safe in the knowledge that you have made a difference!
Why are you asking people to sleep out?
Half of those who access homelessness services in England are between the ages of 16-25. The reasons for homelessness are complex, from family breakdowns and mental health concerns to job losses or bereavement. Young people can be particularly vulnerable and it is these young people that YMCA DownsLink Group look to support.
YMCA DLG are one of the biggest providers of youth services across Sussex and Surrey and every year we work with over 15,000 vulnerable young people, providing essential services that simply would not exist without us. Our projects all have the same aim – we want to give young people in crisis life-long tools to thrive.
How do I take part?
You can take part in two ways:
- Join one of our four mass sleepout events in Brighton & Hove, Guildford, East Sussex and West Sussex on Friday 20 March 2020.
- Hold your own Sleep Easy event on a date of your choosing.
How do I sign up?
All you need to do is register your interest and we’ll be in touch with more details about how you can take part. We look forward to having you join us for Sleep Easy 2020!
