Thank you to all those that participated in, or supported, YMCA Sleep Easy!
YMCA Sleep Easy is a chance for local communities to raise awareness, and funds, to help change the lives of homeless and vulnerable people in their city or town. A mass sponsored sleepout, participants sleep outside through rain or shine.
Almost 200 people slept out in Crawley (in partnership with Crawley Open House) on Thursday 21 March and in Brighton & Hove, Guildford, Eastbourne and Horsham on Friday 22 March. Groups from the University of Sussex Women’s Lacrosse team and St Margaret’s Church, Warnham also hosted their own events.
The Big Crawley Sleepout
With West Sussex County Council looking to cut funding to the housing related support and homelessness sector across the county, Crawley Open House and YMCA Crawley came together for an event aiming to raise vital funds to continue our work. Funds raised will be split jointly between the organisations. Please donate here.
How your fundraising helps
Sleep Easy happens because of young people like Leaha. Read her story here.
“I had fears that the YMCA would be just another hostel, but after moving and settling in I found it really is more of a home. I haven’t been here long but the staff have already shown me how to achieve my goals independently.”
The money we raise through Sleep Easy 2019 will help many more young people change their lives and move forward.
The YMCA provides much more than just a place to sleep. We offer support and opportunities so that the young people can achieve their full potential. Our aim is that they all belong, contribute and thrive.
All money raised through Sleep Easy 2019 will be used to change young lives. This could be through purchasing interview clothes or course materials, funding meaningful activities, or buying a bike so a young person can take up a work opportunity.
Thank you for helping support young lives!
