The Y’s Girls Mentoring programme, a community-led mentoring programme for female-identifying young people in Brighton and Hove, is getting ready to welcome a new cohort of young people and mentors to build on the successes of its first year!
We are appalled by the government’s refusal to include transgender people in the forthcoming legislation to ban on conversion therapy for gay and bisexual people. YMCA DLG stands in solidarity with transgender, non-binary and gender-exploring young people using our services, and colleagues.
Two of our UASC (Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children) residents at YMCA Hastings Foyer, will be joining forces with Project Worker Mo Pearce to run the famously challenging route of the Hastings Half Marathon.
The LGBTQU+ Haven in Crawley was launched in April 2021 and has now been up and running at YMCA YAC in Crawley for just under a year, offering local young people (aged 11-25) with access to weekly youth groups, as well as 1:1 support sessions, all facilitated by a dedicated team of LGBTQU+ Youth Workers and Volunteers.
