REBOOT has launched!

dav

REBOOT is a personalised, strength-based project for young people aged 11-17 who may be at risk of serious youth violence, gang behaviour and criminal exploitation. YMCA DownsLink Group is involved with one element of the program, partnering with Hangleton & Knoll Project (HKP), Trust for Developing Communities (TDC) Hastings YMCA and Audio Active (AA) to deliver a youth coach provision.

Nine youth coaches across Brighton, East Sussex and West Sussex will provide one-to-one support for young people, using a needs based and direct approach that enables young people to take responsibility, get involved in activities, and make their own informed choices. Plans will be tailored to the young person’s learning style, interests, protective factors, abilities and strengths. An ‘enabling fund’ is available to support young people to access activities and other positive opportunities in their communities.

The young people will be selected or referred to the project according to whether they will meet certain criteria which signals them as at risk of gang membership and violent activity and they must reside in Sussex.

What is the project hoping to achieve?

The aim of the project is to increase young people’s resilience and self esteem, empower them to make positive choices, promote good family support and healthy relationships and increase the stability of their education and/or accommodation.

You can read more about the project and meet the youth coaches here.
