Mental Health Awareness Week (11–17 May) is a chance to take action to support our mental health – and each other.
This year, we’re supporting YMCA England & Wales’ Small Talks message, which recognises that while mental health awareness has grown, talking about how we’re really feeling can still be difficult.
Small Talks
Mental health, like physical health, is something we all have.
By taking the time to check in with someone, listen without judgment and create space for conversation, we can help people feel heard and less alone.
This is especially important for the children and young people we support.
Creating safe, trusted spaces for conversation helps build confidence, resilience, and the ability to seek support when it’s needed.
Start small
Looking after your mental health doesn’t have to start with something big.
Small steps can help:
- Talk to someone you trust
- Get outside or go for a walk
- Take a break when you need it
- Check in with someone else.
You don’t have to do everything – just start with one.
Get support
If you need support, you don’t have to figure it out alone.
👉 Get support through our e-wellbeing service.
We rely on fundraising and donations to support more young people.
If you are able, a donation – big or small – can make a real difference. Thank you.
