Registration is now open for a cross-sector learning event exploring findings from YMCA DownsLink Group’s independent review of support for young people aged 16–19 as they move from children’s to adult services across Sussex and Surrey.
Taking place on Thursday 8 October 2026 at The Projects Nile House, Brighton, Turning 18: Supporting young people into adulthood will bring together leaders, practitioners, academics and partners to explore what happens when young people reach adulthood, but their need for support does not change.
The review, undertaken in partnership with the University of Sussex and Resonant Collaboration, draws on local and national evidence, alongside insights from YMCA DownsLink Group services and the experiences of young people.
The programme will include:
- Findings and recommendations from the independent review
- Perspectives from research, policy and practice
- Panel discussion featuring local and national speakers
- Audience discussion and interactive feedback
- Lunch and networking opportunities.
