Our-volunteers

Our volunteers are an integral part of our team at YMCA DownsLink Group. Providing support to a variety of projects across Sussex and Surrey, they help to make a difference to the lives of the children, young people and families that we work with.

Volunteering for YMCA DLG is a great way to gain experience, learn new skills and make some new friends. Volunteers play an integral role in delivering our projects across Sussex and Surrey in a variety of ways:

  • Administration
  • Advice
  • Chaplaincy
  • Counselling
  • Housing
  • Life Skills Training
  • Mentoring
  • Promotion/Marketing
  • Youth Work

“I am learning so much by volunteering at YAC! I am grateful for the training opportunities and well-supported environment which allows me to confidently give advice to young people.”

“Volunteering with Positive Placements has helped me to learn some new skills and to build my confidence.”

Mentor, Positive Placements

“It’s absolutely great having a mentor. You know you’ve got someone next to you, supporting you and it’s not just you by yourself. It’s nice to have someone who wants to help me because I don’t have much support.”
