Youth Engagement Volunteers - Eastbourne - YMCA DownsLink Group

Youth Engagement Volunteers – Eastbourne

Closing date: 2nd September 2019

About the Position

Volunteer role title: Youth Engagement Volunteers
Location: Various Locations in Eastbourne

Are you an enthusiastic and creative person who is up for a challenge and enjoys working with young people? If so then we would love to hear from you!

An exciting opportunity has arisen to support the running of our youth clubs at YMCA YAC Eastbourne. YMCA DownsLink is one of the largest providers of youth services in the South East, and we are currently expanding our range of services in Eastbourne. As a volunteer you will be at the heart of this growth.

Our Youth Clubs run throughout Eastbourne on all days of the week and normally take place in the evenings. All of our youth clubs provide a range of games, discussions, sports, crafts, baking and conservation activities, all tailored to young people aged 11-19 years old. This is a challenging but rewarding role, it is therefore important that you are reliable and approachable. We are looking for people who have an interest in youth work and have a commitment to learning. We are especially interested in hearing from volunteers with an interest in running our music group, arts activities and LGBTQ+ group.

No formal qualifications or experience is required for this role. As a volunteer, you’ll get excellent support, complete training and have the chance to make a real difference to young people in one of Eastbourne’s most socially deprived areas.

If you’d like an informal chat about the role, please call Edwina (Volunteer Coordinator for Eastbourne) on 07943 911 479 or contact Recruitment at [email protected] or on 01273 222550.

YMCA DLG requires all staff and volunteers to be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and to respond proactively to safeguarding concerns.

Successful applicants are required to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure via the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).

Interviews will be held on a rolling basis.
