On Saturday 8 June, the annual Burgess Hill ‘Party in the Park’ will be held in St Johns Park, Burgess Hill. YMCA DownsLink Group Positive Placements has been named as the official charity and as such we will be in attendance all day from noon until 8pm.
We will be running, among other things, a Popcorn Stand, Face Painting and a Tombola. We’ve been on Mid Sussex and Burgess Hill radio in the lead up to explain who we are and what we do, with a focus on YMCA Positive Placements and the services we provide in Mid Sussex, and we will be live on air throughout the day.
YMCA Positive Placements recruits adult volunteers to be trained as mentors in order to support young people towards a positive future. This mentoring scheme involves working with young people to improve confidence, build life skills and write CVs to move on to education, training or employment.
