Location: Hove, East Sussex, UK (Mobile across East Sussex)

Fixed Term for 1 year

30 Hours per week 

£27,140 per annum (pro-rata)

£22,005 per annum (actual)

 

YMCA DownsLink Group’s WiSE Project is an innovative, award winning project working across East Sussex, Brighton and Hove and Surrey, with children and young people experiencing or at risk of sexual exploitation; as well raising awareness of Child Sexual Exploitation and other forms of Child Criminal Exploitation.

This new post offers the opportunity to work in the WiSE team in East Sussex supporting parents and carers whose children are victims of sexually exploitation or considered at risk of sexual or other forms of exploitation.

We are looking for an experienced Parent and Carers Worker, with the confidence to develop a new support offer for East Sussex. You will need to demonstrate a good understanding of the needs of this cohort, the skills to work in a range of settings and in-depth knowledge of safeguarding and child exploitation.

You will need to be able to work autonomously, manage your time and workload while also working closely with the wider WiSE team.

The role involves significant time lone working whilst supporting parents and carers in East Sussex, with travel across the county and further afield as required.

Line management and case support will be provided by YMCA DLG.  YMCA WiSE staff receive regular group Reflective Practice Supervision.

This role will involve frequent travel and it is essential you hold a current driving licence and have access to your own car.

This is challenging yet rewarding work and requires an absolute commitment of the staff.
