WiSE Up to Boys campaign is launched

14th November, 2017

This week saw the launch of YMCA WiSE Project’s WiSE Up To Boys campaign. The aim is to raise awareness that sexual exploitation happens to boys too, and to make sure that boys and young men who are experiencing sexual exploitation get the help and support they need.

It is believed that 1 in 3 victims of child sexual exploitation is male, yet only 1 in 10 victims known to support services is a boy. This is not something that only happens to girls. On 14 November YMCA WiSE Project launched a campaign to ensure everyone knows how to spot and how to respond to anyone who may be at risk of or experiencing exploitation, and to ensure that boys and young men know they are not alone and there is support for them.
