Save young people’s housing services in West Sussex

West Sussex County Council has proposed terminating the entire Housing Related Support budget in the County from April 2019.

YMCA DownsLink Group currently provide specialist housing and support services to 206 young people across West Sussex, and withdrawing funding will decimate the supported housing sector in the County. This would leave vulnerable people at risk of homelessness, higher unemployment and increased A&E admissions

Update: 5th October 2018

Because of all your support so far on our petition, West Sussex County Council has delayed their decision about the proposed supported housing cuts until December this year.

They have also launched a period of engagement on the proposed budget savings, to gather views and feedback from everyone who may be affected. You have until Monday 3 December 2018 to make your voices heard.

Please share your thoughts with West Sussex County Council about the impact these cuts will have on young people in West Sussex using their online survey. You can select the option to write on behalf of an organisation – YMCA DownsLink Group.

Please share the survey link with family, friends and colleagues, and thank you again for helping keep vulnerable young people safe and supported.

If you’d like to do more, share the campaign with your networks – we are @YMCADLG on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

You can also share the film we have produced that hears from the young people who live in our supported housing projects in West Sussex.
