Systemic Family Practitioner

As a Systemic Family Practitioner, you will deliver individual assessments and systemic family work for young people aged 2-17 years, with their families or carers, who are experiencing mild-to-moderate mental health difficulties.
You will work closely with the clinical staff and managers across the CYP team to plan and deliver a range of evidence-based psychological interventions for children and young people
The Children & Young People’s (CYP) Brighton and Hove Wellbeing Service is an innovative service, delivering primary care mental health interventions to children and young people aged 2-25 years. As part of the CYP Wellbeing Service, YMCA DownsLink Group (YMCA DLG) offer a range of short-term interventions tailored to young people’s presenting needs and age. These include cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), counselling, online counselling, low intensity psychological interventions, group treatments, creative arts & play therapies, social prescribing and family therapy.
To combat COVID-19 risk, YMCA DLG have increased the ability to deliver face-to-face and group therapies through secure online platforms. As part of YMCA DLG’s recovery plan, face-to-face interventions are being risk-assessed in readiness for a return to a ‘new normal’ in the future.
The ideal candidate will be AFT/UKCP registered and have a qualification in Systemic and/or Family Therapy for example:
- Postgraduate Diploma Children & Young People’s IAPT Therapy – Systemic Family Practice.
- MSc in Family and Systemic Psychotherapy
- MSc Systemic Psychotherapy
