YMCA DownsLink Group Dialogue is a well-established BACP accredited counselling and wellbeing service for children, young people & families operating across Sussex and into Surrey.
We are seeking candidates who value team working, believe in making a difference to lives of the children and young people they work with, and who can bring passion and professionalism to this post.
Applicants should be qualified counsellors/therapists and BACP Registered or Accredited, or registered with another recognised professional body (e.g. HPC, UKCP).
The ideal candidate will be a counsellors/therapists with experience of working therapeutically with children and young people, preferably in a school setting.
You will work closely with the school key contact to continue the provision of a high quality, ethical counselling service to students. This will include undertaking assessments with students and monitoring risk, agreeing a regular session schedule with the school and completing all associated admin in a timely manner. You will be required to attend regular clinical supervision and line management meetings.
- Graduate or Post graduate level Counselling Diploma or equivalent
• BACP Registration or Accreditation or eligibility for Professional Accreditation (or equivalent professional body)
• Experience in individual counselling with children and or young people to include working with risk issues.
• Experience of using creative therapeutic techniques such as play, art, sand tray etc.
• A sound understanding of Child Protection & Vulnerable Adult Safeguarding issues, policies and procedures.
