YMCA DownsLink Group is a registered charity working across Sussex and Surrey to provide a variety of services and projects to the local communities. Our work covers a wide range of areas including accommodation, general advice, sexual exploitation, mental health, housing advice, young offenders, youth clubs, childcare, counselling, mentoring, alternative education and apprenticeships.

We are recruiting a part-time administration assistant to join our established HR team, and support us to deliver an effective and efficient recruitment and HR service to the organisation.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience of working in a busy HR service as part of a growing organisation.

You will assist with a range of tasks, such as:
– advertising vacancies
– organising interviews
– onboarding new starters (processing pre-employment checks including DBS certification)
– general filing and administration activities
– supporting absence recording

Ideally you would have some experience of working in an administrative role, ideally within a HR department or within a recruitment or volunteer co-ordination setting. However, this is an entry level role and support/training will be provided. You will need to have exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills, and the ability to provide excellent customer service. The successful applicant will need a good level of written and verbal English and the ability to use a range of systems, including (but not limited to) Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.

Hours can be worked flexibly with an element of work from home expected; this can be discussed further at interview.
