Engagement and Participation Coordinator

£26,285 per annum

YMCA Right Here, an award-winning, youth-led, young people’s health & wellbeing and campaigning project, run by YMCA DownsLink Group, is looking to recruit an experienced, creative and dynamic individual.

The Engagement and Participation Co-ordinator will work closely with the Right Here Project Manager and staff team to support a team of youth volunteers to initiate, plan, develop and deliver a programme of work, with a primary focus on the health and wellbeing of 11-25 year olds.

Right Here works to engage, empower and enable children and young people to influence and inform projects, policy and practices in Brighton and Hove, and across YMCA DLG localities; and to campaign and take action on issues that affect their lives and the world around them, in order to effect change.

The Right Here team will support the implementation and delivery of YMCA DownsLink Group’s new Children & Young People’s Involvement & Influencing Strategy.

Experience of working with young people is essential, preferably youth work and/or youth participation. The ability to engage with young people using a variety of relevant, interactive and creative methods is sought, together with an understanding of the health and wellbeing needs of young people today.

Experience of networking and working with schools and other agencies and services across the public and voluntary sector is desirable.

This post is currently for 12 months, with the expectation of extension.
Start date as soon as possible.
