Galvanise Brighton & Hove

YMCA DLG are leading on Galvanise Brighton & Hove, a campaign engaging local people to work together and end rough sleeping. Part of the European Campaign to End Street Homelessness, the project has seen over 1,000 volunteers survey rough sleepers in cities across Europe, from Valencia to London.


YMCA DLG Employability Traineeship

The new YMCA DLG Employability Traineeship is being rolled out in February 2018 at various venues across Sussex and Surrey.

The aim of the course is to help young people, who are not currently engaged in work or learning, get a job.


YMCA Guildford Foyer is open!

Around 80 people, including council representatives, friends, supporters and neighbours, gathered at the National Trust Tea Room, Dapdune Wharf on Thursday 7 December to celebrate the opening of YMCA Guildford Foyer, Wharf Road. FIND OUT MORE

New funding for vulnerable victims after report finds boys and young men at risk

Sussex PCC Katy Bourne has announced up to £100,000 of new funding for support services after a report commissioned by her office found boys and young men risk being overlooked as potential victims of sexual exploitation.


Youth Matters Awards finalists announced!

YMCA Youth Matters Awards is an annual awards event, which celebrates the achievements of young people, staff and volunteers.

We are delighted that two of our nominations for YMCA’s Youth Matters Awards 2017 have made it through to the finals.

Pride – mission accomplished

YMCA DLG celebrated Brighton Pride in great style on Saturday 5 August. Our float stood out well among the parade of 100, themed around the Beatles album cover Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band on the 50th anniversary of its release. This tied in nicely with Pride’s ‘Summer of Love’ theme to mark the 50th anniversary of the decriminalisation of homosexuality in this country. FIND OUT MORE

Fast Track 2 Employment

YMCA DLG is launching a range of Study Programmes that offer learners aged 16-18 (or 19+ with a statement or EHP) genuine sector specific skills and training, with embedded functional skills, and work experience.  This is a great opportunity and stepping stone towards further education, apprenticeships or employment.
