YMCA DownsLink Group’s WiSE project is a specialist provision working with children and young people experiencing, or at significant risk of sexual exploitation.
The Parents & Carers Worker is a new role and will deliver support and interventions to families of children who are either victims of sexual exploitation, or considered vulnerable to this or other forms of exploitation.
You will undertake one off information & advice sessions, and on-going casework to increase parent/carer understanding of sexual exploitation and develop their knowledge, skills and resources to help them to keep their children safe from harm and abuse, and disrupt perpetrators.
The Parents & Carers Worker will also be responsible for delivering peer support groups, and providing information to parents & carers via schools and in the community.
This is challenging yet rewarding work and requires flexibility, adaptability and an absolute commitment of the staff.
The Parents & Carers Worker will receive regular 1:1 clinical supervision and group Reflective Practice Supervision.
