YMCA Crawley Foyer has been hosting chaplaincy nights since January 2019. The YMCA volunteer chaplains visit the Crawley residents every Tuesday evening, prepare a hot meal, often with a helping hand from the residents and eat with them around the table. They are happy to listen or chat; they are there for everyone, no matter what spiritual beliefs are held.
It is such a joyous privilege being a part of the chaplaincy team. I really enjoy the fun, friendship & food on Tuesday nights, it's the highlight of my week and keeps me feeling in touch.
At Chaplaincy I can make a progressive effort to be a part of the local community, to evaluate my options in life and to open myself to receive advice from other adults.
If you would like to explore becoming a volunteer chaplain and could be free for an evening once every two to three weeks contact Samantha Burton our West Sussex Chaplain firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
