Celebrating our Volunteers – Part 1

The first week of June was Volunteers Week, giving us the perfect opportunity to celebrate our wonderful volunteers in Brighton & Hove, Horsham and Guildford.

The Brighton & Hove event took place at One Church which was transformed into a beautiful village fete.  Volunteers from all of our Brighton & Hove projects were given a goody bag on arrival with a signed card from our CEO Chas Walker, a raffle ticket and some goodies to say thank you.

Our local resident Jess sang beautifully, and we had Ryan rocking it on the decks.  Our volunteers were entertained in a bunting and balloon filled room and won prizes for splatting the rat, hooking the duck and knocking the cans in the coconut shy.  The raffle was well received with prizes kindly donated from Komedia, the Cocktail Shack and Brighton Therapy.  Waitrose offered a £10 gift card for the winner of Human Bingo which was enthusiastically won by member of staff Emily Whiter.  Thank you to all those companies who have shown their support.

David Tester, our volunteer database administrator was unlucky enough to win a huge jar full of sweets that he didn’t like as he correctly guessed how many of them there were, bad luck Dave!

The evening was topped off with incredibly refreshing lemonade, food and drink and ‘thank you’ cupcakes for all the volunteers.

Many thanks to everyone involved with the planning and delivery of this event, it was a complete success!
